When you do an internship abroad as part of your studies, you have a number of options to cover your expenses.
You can apply for an Erasmus Internship Grant, if you are doing your internship in Europe.
NB. Please note that possibly not all applicants will be able to receive an Erasmus grant. This is due to an increased number of students wanting to go abroad and a limited amount of grants.
As a Danish citizen, you can take your SU with you when you do your internship abroad. All it requires is that you are eligible to receive SU and that Business Academy Aarhus approves your internship as a full credit awarding stay that can replace a part of your programme at the Academy.
As a foreign citizen, you have to meet certain demands in order to be entitled to bring your SU while doing an internship abroad.
Students who receive a salary must opt out of SU, regardless of the amount of money you receive.
This is a grant that is awarded at the end of the autumn semester.
You cannot apply for the grant but must be nominated by your teacher to be able to receive a grant of DKK 15,000 – 20,000. Therefore, you have to make your teachers aware that you are going abroad, and they will then nominate the students that they consider are entitled. Be aware that a nomination does not mean that you automatically get the grant.
The grant is only awarded to students:
- of Marketing Management (Markedsføringsøkonom)
- of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Innovation og Entreprenørskab)
- of International Sales and Marketing Mangement (International Handel og Marketing)
- with a Danish citizenship
- who are abroad during the period of January – July
There are many grants you can apply for. Find the ones relevant to you online or in ‘Legathåndbogen’ (you can borrow the book at the library).
