Admission process for exchange students

Before you apply

First of all, you need to contact the International Office at your home institution about going on exchange. This is to ensure that your home institution has a bilateral exchange agreement with Business Academy Aarhus.

Provided that there is a bilateral exchange agreement with your university, your international office must nominate you by sending an e-mail to exchange@baaa.dk. Nominations for the spring semester can be sent from 1 September and nominations for the autumn semester can be sent from 1 March.

If your home institution does not have an agreement with Business Academy Aarhus, your International Office can contact shwi@baaa.dk to explore the opportunity of entering into a bilateral agreement.

Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen, you must apply for a student residence and work permit before you arrive in Denmark. We will help you with this but processing can take a couple of months!

Application and deadlines

As soon as students have been nominated by their home institution to study at Business Academy Aarhus, we will contact students directly with information on how to apply.

For August intake (autumn semester)
Deadline is 1 May at midday (CET).

For January intake (spring semester)
Deadline is 1 November at midday (CET).

Attachments

As part of your application, you are required to submit a learning agreement that lists the programmes and subjects you wish to study at Business Academy Aarhus. This learning agreement must be approved by your home institution. Please note that you are not able to mix subjects across different programmes or different semesters.

You will also need to send an official transcript of your records from your home institution in English and stating the ECTS credits (or equivalent) you have earned. This is essential to determine whether you are qualified for admission and so that Business Academy Aarhus can offer you the appropriate courses. Please have all this information ready by the application deadlines.

English language requirements

Regarding English language qualifications, exchange students are required to live up to these minimum requirements and must be able to document them:

  • Cambridge English Advanced: Grade A, B or C
  • Oxford Placement test: 160 (min. 80 in each part)
  • Oxford Online Placement test: C1 (min. 80 in each part)

This does not apply to native English speakers.

Letter of admission

The processing of your application will take a few weeks, and if it is successful, you will receive an official “Letter of Admission” by e-mail from the International Office at Business Academy Aarhus after the application deadline.

We are a popular destination and are regrettably often unable to accept all students who apply. Each student will be contacted directly if they are not accepted.
