Getting around in Aarhus
Bicycle
Bicycles It is very easy to get around in Aarhus by bicycle and nearly all students get around on bicycles as infrastructure and distances allow it. Aarhus is a safe city for bicycling as almost all over the city you are able to use bicycle lanes. Bicycling is a cheap, healthy and ecological way of travelling.
Students may bring their own bicycle from home or buy a secondhand at a fairly cheap price in Aarhus (starting from EUR 50 and up). Many students buy their bicycles from other students who have completed their studies in Aarhus but you can also buy cheap second-hand bicycles at the police auctions, see: www.hittegodsauktion.dk.
The auction is located at:
Østjysk Auktion
Kringelled 6
8250 Egå.

You can also rent a bicycle from Studenterhus Aarhus. Please find more information at www.studenterhusaarhus.dk.
City bus
In general, the public transportation system in terms of city buses, regional buses and trains is very well functioning in Aarhus, however, it is quite expensive. However; the yellow city bus is an easy way to get around in Aarhus. The busses are numbered at the front and at the back; the numbers represent the bus route. Please remember to enter the bus from the rear.
You can buy single ride tickets in the bus, however if you expect to use the city bus for transportation, you may consider bying a multiple ride ticket or a monthly ticket at more favorable prices. You can buy tickets at several shops and kiosks around Aarhus.
A monthly bus pass is approx. 340 DKK and a single ticket 18 DKK.
Inspectors make random checks and you have to show a valid ticket on request. Passengers who do not possess a valid ticket are fined (approx. DKK 600 per fine.)
City bus stops are marked with a route number and a yellow bus. There is a timetable at each bus stop and the busses normally arrive on time. Find the timetable online.
On Friday and Saturday selected yellow city buses drive all night. Please note that you must pay double fare when using night buses.

Trains
You can go by train in Aarhus on the same tickets as you use for busses. ”Odderbanen” and some of Arrivas regional trains stop at Viby Station, 200 meters from Business Academy Aarhus (Sønderhøj 30 department).
Journey Planner
The journey planner is incredibly helpful when you need to find out how to get to one destination from another. For instance, you can find out how to get from Copenhagen to Business Academy Aarhus by using this service. Simply type in the address of Business Academy Aarhus which is Sønderhøj 30, 8260 Viby J. (You can use the letter “o” instead of the Danish letter “ø”).
