The Programme

AP Degree Programme of Multimedia Design and Communication is a two-year full-time Higher Educational programme qualifying students for key functions within a number of trades and industries. Typical areas of work would be multimedia companies, service providers, production companies and educational institutions, both within the private and public sector. You will work with subjects like communication and dissemination theories, construction of websites, graphic design, audio/video and 3D animation, aesthetics, marketing, journalism, IT systems and data communication.

The programme covers four semesters - each lasting 6 months - and contains a compulsory part and an elective part. The compulsory part contains courses within the following subject areas:

  • The company
  • Communication and presentation
  • Design and visualisation
  • Interaction development

The programme is completed with a final examination project, where you will solve a specific problem for a company in connection with a compulsory traineeship of at least 3 months.

Laptops and software

As a student at the Multimedia Design and Communication programme, you are requested to bring along your own laptop. At study start, you will receive the software you need to study – for the present the software package “Adobe Creative Suite X Web Premium. The software is your property, also after you graduate.

Teaching Methods

Teaching contents and methods are closely related to practice and stress good and close contact between students and the teaching faculty. During the studies students have access to computer facilities, Internet, etc. Lessons take place as lectures and classroom teaching. In addition, you will often participate in project work with other students. Project oriented teaching will imply that all subjects are targeted at the project. To ensure that the contents of the study are as relevant and close to professional practice as possible, project assignments will often be based on authentic cases from companies. Students will work both individually and in groups.
