Programme Structure
The Professional Bachelor's Degree in Software Development programme consists of six subject modules, an internship and a final bachelor project.
The subject modules deal with various issues related to the development of large data-heavy and distributed systems. The subject modules are completed as separate subjects, and it is your responsibility to create cohesion between the modules in your final bachelor project.
Each of the first two semesters features three modules, whilst the final (3rd) semester consists of an internship with an IT company and a final bachelor project, also to be completed in a company.
Your programme has to be composed of five core modules and an elective module, adding up to a total of six subject modules.

Subject Modules
Core Modules:
• Test
• System integration
• Contract based development
• Development of large systems
• Databases for developers
Elective Modules:
• Security

Additional Module:
• Theory of science (this is an additional module, which you should take if you plan to
continue studying for e.g. a Master's degree).
Internship
You will spend the first half of the 3rd semester in an internship with a company. The internship will give you the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge to practical work, and at the same time you enhance your chances of gaining quick access to an exciting job. It is your own responsibility to find a company that will take you in, but we do place a large number of contacts at your disposition.
Bachelor Project
During the second half of the 3rd semester, you have to write your bachelor project. The bachelor project should be based on a practice-related issue. You will outline the issue for the bachelor project in collaboration with an external partner, e.g. the company where you do your work placement. Normally, the main project is elaborated in close contact with the company, and you will probably spend most of your time at the company whilst working on the project.
