Business Academy Aarhus to choose this year’s best internship company

Join the competition to decide this year’s best internship company. Business Academy Aarhus invites all former and current students in an internship – in Denmark or internationally – to take part in the competition.

For the second year in a row, Business Academy Aarhus will crown the best internship experience. The award goes to an internship, which has been particularly good, and the winner progresses to a national competition with Denmark’s eight other business academies.

‘Interaction with the business community is pivotal to the Danish business academies and not least to Business Academy Aarhus. This competition creates even more focus on the valuable partnership we have with companies, and on our practice-orientated educational programmes, which is our DNA,’ says Business Academy’s Rector Christian Mathiasen.

Tribute to the good cooperation

Every year, over 2,000 students from Business Academy Aarhus do an internship. Internships are compulsory on all of our higher education programmes. This means that a large number of companies make a great effort so that the internship is a good professional and personal experience. The competition presents a perfect opportunity for the students to give their internship company a pat on the back.

‘The internships give our students valuable work experience. This is where they really get to use their skills and convert their knowledge into something worthwhile. For many of our students, an internship even opens the door to a job. The compulsory internship is therefore an extremely useful element on all our programmes,’ says the Rector Christian Mathiasen.

Facts about this year’s best internship company

The students nominate the company that they did their internship in. Students who have been in an internship whilst doing their AP degree or their Bachelor top-up in autumn 2016 or spring 2017 can nominate the company they were at (or their own company).

As a student, nominate your company in this form. Remember to choose English at the page bottom. In the survey, you will be asked to evaluate your experiences during your internship within these areas:

  • personal and professional development
  • the social experience
  • turning knowledge into value.

The winner progresses on to the national competition

The competition to win the award as Business Academy Aarhus’ internship company for this year will run until Monday, 13 March 2017. The winner is chosen by a jury consisting of representatives from the business community, a student organisation and Business Academy Aarhus.

The winner progresses to the national competition in Copenhagen, where there is one overall winner for all business academies in Denmark.

The winner from each business academy therefore competes against one another and presents their internship company to a national jury on Tuesday 16 May in the Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen.

How to participate in the competition

If you are an intern from the academic year 2016-2017, you nominate your internship company in this form.
