Cookies

At baaa.dk, we use cookies in order to support several of the basic functions on the website. When you click onto our page, this message pops up in the bottom of the screen; ‘By using our website, baaa.dk, you accept our use of cookies’. The message disappears permanently when you click on it, but you can always delete cookies from baaa.dk again.

Below you can read more about the types of cookies used, why they are used and how you can deselect them.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your browser in order to recognise your computer, mobile or equivalent on subsequent visits. There is no personal information stored in our cookies, and they cannot contain viruses.

Cookies are used on most websites and serve two basic purposes:

  • to support various functionalities on the website
  • to collect statistics about how the website is used

What are cookies used for on baaa.dk?

Many pages on baaa.dk would not function if we did not use cookies. The search function, for example, would not remember your search results, and your navigation clicks back and forth on our pages would generally show you inadequate information.

In addition to this, we also use cookies to collect statistical data about the user’s traffic patterns, for example with Google Analytics, in order to be able to customise page content in the best possible way for our applicants and business partners.

The website also includes third-party cookies, such as Facebook, AdForm and YouTube, so that our advertising is as relevant as possible on social media or other websites.

Reject or delete cookies

You can deselect cookies by changing the settings of your browser. What you should do depends on which browser you are using. You should note that you may not be able to use some functionalities and services if you deselect cookies.

All browsers will allow you to delete cookies, either one by one or all at once. The steps you need to follow depend on your browser. See instructions at all about cookies.  If you use multiple browsers, remember to delete the cookies in all of them.

We use a handful of third parties to store and process data from web traffic, such as media agencies and web hosting services whom we have data processing agreements with. These third parties store and process information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. An example of this could be data used for the targeting of ads about Business Academy Aarhus, which has been customised to your interests. Please note though that the personal data you provide to us via advertisements or postings on social media is also covered by the respective social media’s privacy policy. If you are logged into Google, for example, while you are on baaa.dk, this data can be linked to your profile on that service. This is beyond our control and is therefore exclusively a matter between that third party and you.

The retention period for your personal data

We store your personal data from visits to baaa.dk for the period permitted by law and your information is erased when it is no longer needed. The specific period depends on the type of information and the reason for its storage (e.g. whether it is a registration for a newsletter or a diploma that you have uploaded for an application) and it is therefore not possible to specify in general terms when your personal data will be deleted.
