Cookies are small text files that can be used by websites to make a user’s experience more efficient. You can read all about the different types of cookies we use, why we use them and how you can choose them, or remove them.

The law states that we can store cookies on your device if they are strictly necessary for the operation of the service you have specifically asked for. For all other types of cookies we need your permission. On we use different types of cookies. Some cookies are placed by third-party services that show our pages, for example one of our videos shown via YouTube.

The collection and processing of personal data when you use

Personal data means all types of information that can in some way be attributed to you. When you use our website, you can allow us to collect and process personal data about you.

The collection of personal data only occurs when you give permission for it – either by accepting our cookies or when filling out our forms.

When you sign up for a newsletter, purchase a course or subject, or fill out a contact form (on or via one of our ads on social media), you always have to give your permission so that Business Academy Aarhus can collect and process your personal data in accordance with the law and our personal data policy.

What personal data do we collect from

We only collect and process the personal data you consent to. Here are a few examples:

We collect the cookies you allow. You can see all of them in the list above. For example, if you accept statistics cookies, we can collect technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile, your IP number, your geographical location and which pages you click on. You can always change your cookie consent via the link at the top of this page.

When you fill out and submit forms on a page (e.g. by signing up for events, newsletters or subjects/courses), you allow us to collect and process the data you enter. For example, this could be your name, phone number, email address, physical address and payment information.

We protect your personal data

We treat your information confidentially and securely. We have taken technical and organisational measures to ensure that your information is not either accidentally or illegally disclosed, deleted, degraded, lost, or becomes known by any unauthorised people, misused or in any other way is processed in violation with the law.

We use a handful of third parties to store and process data from our web traffic, such as media agencies and web hosting services whom we have data processing agreements with. The third parties store and process information on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes. Obviously, third parties only get the data that you have consented to – e.g. through your cookie consent on this page. An example of this could be data used for targeting of ads about Business Academy Aarhus, which has been customised to your interests (this is controlled by the cookies we classify as marketing cookies).  

Please note though that the personal data you provide to us via advertisements or postings on social media, is also covered by the respective social media’s privacy policy. If you are logged into Google for example while you are on, your data can be linked to your profile on Google (e.g. by auto-filling out form fields etc). This is beyond our control and is therefore exclusively a matter between the relevant third party and you. 

Retention period for your personal data

We store your personal data from visits to for the period permitted by law and your information is erased when it is no longer needed. You can see the duration of each cookie in the table above. We will keep data you have entered into forms on for as long as we need it in relation to our processing times and the applicable law. For example, there is a difference between signing up for a newsletter or an event and uploading a diploma with an application. Therefore, it is not possible to indicate in general terms when personal data is deleted.

Get insight into our information pertaining to you

You have the right to be informed about which personal data can be attributed to you. You can also object to us using your information or revoke your consent to the processing of information about you. If the information processed about you is incorrect, you have the right to correct or delete it.

If you want access to the personal data we have, according to the above, you can see in our personal data policy how to contact us. Please note, however, that we cannot delete information that we are required to keep for a certain period of time - this could be, for example, information that we have to keep in accordance with legal requirements if you have applied for admission to one of our programmes.

If you would like to complain about our processing of personal data, you can also contact the Danish Data Protection Agency and complain according to  the EU General Data Protection Regulation (See the personal data regulations from the Danish Data Protection Agency). The ongoing development of the Internet may mean that it is necessary to update our guidelines on the use of cookies and personal data on Therefore, we reserve the right to update these guidelines. If we do so, we will alter ‘last updated’ at the bottom of the page - and if there are very significant changes, we will have a visible message on our website.
