About the programme
This Bachelor top-up programme (1½ years, 90 ECTS) is the direct path to further education for production technologists, information technology and electronics technologists, installers, automation technologists and energy technologists.
You will become a competent and creative product developer, who combines both business models and the needs of the users. You will learn to think user orientation, sustainability and business understanding into product development – and to disseminate and justify decisions and solutions. You will learn to identify users’ needs – through for example interviews – and get the tools for an innovative approach to product development. You will also develop prototypes and test them. In this programme, you’ll work with various technologies including 3D printing, IoT and VR.

- Integration and product development
You can study, join a summer school or take your internship abroad during the programme.

Internship in your 3rd semester
In your internship you will get to test your newly acquired skills in a company and get insight into future work assignments and career opportunities. You will be able to connect your theoretical knowledge with practical experience and at the same time strengthen your CV.
In the internship, you can test a specific field of work and then focus your programme in relation to your career plans. As part of your internship, you must write a project report which is based on a problem statement from the company.
The internship is a mandatory part of your programme, and it is your responsibility to find an internship company. To help, we have a wide range of tools and contacts available, e.g. via our Job and internship portal.

Career options
With a bachelor in Product Development and Integrative Technology, you can be the bridge between different professions and your job title will typically be technical project manager, advisor or consultant.
You could be responsible for complex IT and network solutions, electronic and technical data systems as well as building and industrial installations.
You will probably get a job in companies involved in product development, construction or project planning. Here, you could work with:
- Product development – including brand new products and solutions for industry
- Process improvements in companies
- Optimisation of production systems and processes
- Optimisation and operation of automatic systems
- Energy optimisation
- Project management

Continue with your education
A Bachelor top-up degree from Business Academy Aarhus is a dynamic pathway to higher education. A Bachelor top-up degree is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from a research university. A number of our graduates enrol in relevant post-graduate or Master programmes in Denmark or abroad.
Please note that you may need to take supplementary courses to meet the admission requirements. If you want to continue studying, you can get counselling from the educational institution that you want to be admitted to.
