Registration for EU/EEA citizens - Step 1

As an EU/EEA citizen, you must apply for an EU/EEA residence permit immediately after you arrive in Aarhus.

For information about your EU/EEA residence permit, please see New to Denmark and read the 'Need to know' section.

The application form can be found under the 'How to apply' section and must be downloaded, printed and filled in. You must then make an appointment and hand it in personally at their office:

Åboulevarden 31,1
8000 Aarhus C

You can see the opening hours for the Aarhus office here

When applying for your residence permit, you must bring all the relevant documents with you including:

  • Your passport
  • A passport photo
  • Proof of final admission to the Academy (confirmation attest)

You must also be able to prove the following:

  • Your full name
  • Your date of birth and place of birth registration
  • Your most recent address abroad
  • The date of changing your address
  • Your future address in Denmark
  • Your nationality.

Your EU/EAA residence permit will be sent to your home address in Denmark.

Please note that you must have applied for your residence permit from the Regional State Administration before you can visit Citizen Services Aarhus to obtain your Health Insurance Card/CPR number

It usually takes about 2 weeks for your residency permit to arrive. This will be sent to your home address, so make sure your name is on the postbox or you will not receive it!
