Financial Management And Services

This programme in English will no longer accept new students from 2022 and onwards.

We have had to stop international admissions because of a political decision to reduce the number of study places taught in English at Danish business academies.

Information about the Financial Management and Services programme on this page only applies to students who are already enrolled at Business Academy Aarhus.

About the programme

The Bachelor’s programme (3½ years, 210 ECTS) in Financial Management and Services is ideal for you if you would like to work with complex advisory, sales, financial and/or consultancy tasks within for example an accountancy company.

The programme is divided into seven semesters. During the first three semesters, you will study the basic subjects that are important to everybody working with complex advisory tasks in the financial sector, including business economics, counselling and ethics, economics, communication and sales. The last four semesters consist of industry specialisation, an internship period and a Bachelor's project.

You can choose to join a summer school, do an exchange semester or do your internship abroad as part of the programme. The programme also contains a compulsory international module, which can be completed as a semester abroad or as a course in Denmark.

This entire programme is taught in English.

The industry specialisation part

The industry specialisation part consists of two subject periods, where you specialise in accounting. It is organised so that the subject (accounting) is placed in the 4th semester and will serve as preparation for your internship period during the 5th semester. The subjects placed in the 6th semester are intended to serve as follow-up and will provide competency development after your internship period.

Internship in your 5th semester

In your internship, you will get to test your newly acquired skills in a company and get insight into future work assignments and career opportunities. You will be able to connect your theoretical knowledge with practical experience and at the same time strengthen your CV.

In the internship, you can test a specific field of work and then focus your programme in relation to your career plans. As part of your internship, you must write a project report which is based on a problem statement from the company.

The internship is a mandatory part of your programme, and it is your responsibility to find an internship company. To help, we have a wide range of tools and contacts available, e.g. via our career centre.

Your internship can be taken in a company in Denmark or abroad.

Here are some examples of internship companies:
