Important rules you should know

We do not accept any applications or attachments via the postal service. This applies to all programmes and for all deadlines.

All relevant documentation must be attached with the digital application. You can upload attachments until the application deadline.

You must apply for Digital Concept Developement through NemStudie

You can apply from 1 February. 

Before we can process your application, we need all the appropriate documents as proof of the information you have provided in your application.

You must upload the verification form along with your application which documents how many hours of instruction you have had in any relevant subjects during the final three years at your upper secondary school.

We only accept our verification form. If you do not upload this verification form, it is not possible for us to evaluate your application.

If you do not have a Danish CPR (civil registration) number and MitID, you must log in using your email address.

Once you have entered your email address, a direct link to your login page will be sent to your inbox. Check your spam folder if you do not receive this email. With this login, you will be able to start the application process.

Once you have submitted and approved your application(s), a message will be displayed containing a link to the signature page. You must click on this link to generate a signature page.

You must then date, sign and upload this signature page - one for each of the programmes you have applied for. This is very important as we will otherwise not be able to see, download or process your applications.

We do not accept signature pages by email or by post. We will only process your application if your signature page is uploaded correctly via the form on our homepage.

If you want to apply for a standby study place, you must tick the ‘standby’ box in your application on optagelse.dk.

You should choose this option if you are interested in starting on one specific programme.

Getting a standby study place means that you will be put on a waiting list and you will be offered a study place on the programme if someone else says ‘no thanks’ to their study place. If you are not offered a study place for this admission’s round, you will get a pre-approved letter of admission. This means that you are guaranteed a study place on the programme for the next study start.

Please note, however, that if you are offered a standby study place, you will not be admitted to a lower priority programme even though you do qualify for admission.

We do not have any standby study places for Digital Concept Development. 

How to get a study place

If you’re offered a standby place, you will be put on a waiting list.

If anyone who has been accepted into the programme says ‘no thank you’ to their study place, the empty study place will be offered to an applicant who has been given a standby study place.

If you are offered a study place before start of the semester and you say ‘no thank you’ to the study place, you will lose your standby study place and you will therefore not receive a pre-approved letter of admission for the next study start.

If you are not offered an available study place by start of the semester, you will (in September) receive, via email, a pre-approved letter of admission that guarantees you a study place for that programme for the next study start.

If you are not offered a study place via your standby place, you will instead receive a pre-approved letter of admission that guarantees you a study place on that programme for the next study start.

If you want to use your pre-approved letter of admission, you must apply for that programme for the next study start and upload the pre-approved admission letter of admission as documentation. Remember to tick the I have a ‘pre-approved admission’ box on the application form.

If you do not meet the formal entry requirements, you can apply for admission with special permission and get an individual concrete assessment of your competencies.

You must apply for special permission if:

• You do not have a qualifying exam but have otherwise obtained (and can document) similar qualifications.
• You have a qualifying exam but lack specific subject requirements or do not comply with the language requirements. Instead, you have other qualifications that could substitute what you need.

The application deadline is 15 March / 1 November at 12 midday.

On optagelse.dk/NemStudie you must choose “No entry qualifications” / “I do not meet the criteria for admission” and then indicate that you are applying for admission with special permission.

Attachment requirements:

• a short exemption application (max. 1 A4 page), in which you justify your similar qualifications.
• documentation proving the stated qualifications. 

Remember to attach the required documentation with your application, otherwise we cannot evaluate your application.

If you have already completed a Master's degree from Denmark or abroad, you can, as a general rule, only be admitted to a new higher education programme if there are vacancies in the programme you are applying for (the Master's rule).

It is possible to apply for a dispensation of the Master’s rule if there are exceptional circumstances. The deadline for applying for a dispensation from the Master’s rule is 15 March at 12 midday.

If you want to apply for a dispensation of the Master’s rule, you must upload your dispensation application and the documentation for these exceptional circumstances with your application.

In the processing of your dispensation application, we will assess whether you have documented exceptional circumstances which mean that you cannot use your completed Master's degree. For example, the documentation could be a medical certificate. Unemployment or a desire to enrol in another educational programme are not valid reasons.

You can apply for readmission for the same programme that you were previously admitted and enrolled in.

If you have passed less than the first year of the programme, you must apply for admission once again before the application deadline on 15 March at 12:00 midday. 

If you have passed at least the first year of the programme, you can instead apply for re-registration by contacting the administrative coordinator from the programme that you want to apply for admission to. Find the contact information in the phone book. Re-registration is dependent upon there being available study places on the programme.

Please note that you must have been withdrawn from your programme for at least 5 months before you can start again. If you apply for admission to the same programme but in a different language, it is still considered as readmission. 

When you apply for an education in Denmark with study start in August at optagelse.dk all programmes have their own unique ID – which is also called an admission area number or a KOT number. You must use this number on optagelse.dk to apply for exactly the programme you want.
