With ‘Leadership in Practice’ you will learn how to create a strong foundation as a leader, future leader or informal leader.
You will gain insight into different leadership roles and leadership types, and learn how to develop a toolbox within communication, motivation, conflict management and leadership.

Target group
People who want to develop their skills and improve their employability in Denmark. At the moment, we only offer our subjects in English for company groups. Unfortunately, these subjects are not for students or people who do not live in Denmark.

With this course, you will be given the competencies to:
- Perform managerial functions in practice.
- Define development areas and establish action plans for your development.
- Use management communication as a central part of your management practice.
- Handle conflict situations and assess when there is a need to get help for conflict resolution.
- Handle development-orientated situations within the management area at the operational and tactical management level.
How we do it
‘Leadership in Practice’ is a tool-orientated subject, which aims to enhance your skills in leadership. The concrete applicability will be regularly tested in study groups, where the tools and methods are trained.
Exam and ECTS credits
You complete the course with an oral exam, based on a short project. You will be marked according to the Danish 7-point scale. ‘Leadership in Practice' awards 10 ECTS credits.

With a qualifying education from Business Academy Aarhus, you have excellent flexibility. You can take a single subject, an entire programme or tailor-make your own programme that best matches your needs and desires. If you want an entire programme you can also combine your English subjects with our Danish part-time AP degree subjects
