Process optimisation of beer production
The summer school ‘Process optimisation of beer production' is a 2-week course where you will get a basic knowledge of processes during beer production.
The objective of the summer school is for the student to gain theoretical insights and practical experience in a laboratory with a specific focus on processes during brewing. You will also obtain knowledge about:
- Chemical analyses of beer
- Chemical analyses of raw materials and the influence of the chemical composition on the taste of beer
- Sensory evaluation
- Microbial testing during beer production
- Resource consumption and suggestions for optimisation during beer production
The entire course will be taught in English by lecturers and professors from our partner university Seneca College and Business Academy Aarhus.
Where and when
The summer school is offered in collaboration with all our partner university Seneca College and will take place in Aarhus from 15 June -26 June 2020.
Who can join
The course is offered to students from the AP programme Chemical and Biotechnical Science and the Bachelor’s top-up Chemical and Biotechnical Technology and Food Technology programme at Business Academy Aarhus. Partner universities that offer similar programmes may send students with at least 1 year of studies.
The summer school is ideal for students who want to incorporate a different academic or cultural experience in their educational profile.
The summer school is weighted 5 ECTS credits, but check with your own university to see how many ECTS credits you can get.
A hostel in the centre of Aarhus with direct transport to our biotech campus.
There is no tuition fee for the course if you come from one of our partner universities. Students that come from non-partner universities must pay 5000 DKK.
You must pay all other expenses in connection with the summer school in Aarhus.
If you are offered a place on this summer school, a non-refundable payment (750 DKK) must be paid in approximately mid-March in order to ensure your registration. This amount pays for some of the combined social activities etc. and will be for your benefit. We may require you to pay a little bit more later on in the process.
