Still great interest in Business Academy Aarhus' English-language programmes

Multimedia Design and Digital Concept Development received more first-priority applicants than study places, even though the number of applicants is lower than last year.

Interest in the two English-language programmes at Business Academy Aarhus remains high. Both the Multimedia Design programme and the bachelor's top-up programme in Digital Concept Development have received more first-priority applicants than there are study places available.

Multimedia Design received 275 applications. Of these, 115 applicants have chosen our programme as their first choice. This is 11 fewer than last year, when 126 had applied for the programme as their first priority, representing a drop of 9 per cent.

The programme can only accept 38 students to start their studies in August.

121 have applied for Digital Concept Development, which is our one and a half year top-up programme. 114 have chosen this programme as their first choice. Last year, 167 applied for the programme, which corresponds to a 28 per cent drop in the total number of applicants.

In August, this programme will admit 50 students.

Both of our English-language programmes have capped admission quotas, which means that the number of study places is determined in advance.

Programmes with jobs in sight

Rector Anne Storm Rasmussen does not see the overall decline as worrying.

‘Fewer students can be admitted from now until 2030 as a result of the political agreement to move programme places away from the big cities. Therefore, a minor decrease in the number of applicants is not in itself a cause for concern. The most important thing for us is that young people who want to study with us have the opportunity to do so. A slightly lower number of applications also means that fewer people will experience rejection from some of our most popular programmes.’
