Application info for Non-EU applicants

Find all the important informations like deadlines, fees and reqirements, when you want to apply for a programme as a non-EU applicant.

You are considered as a non-EU applicant if you have a qualifying exam from a country outside of the EU (no matter what your nationality is), or if you are a citizen from a country from outside the EU (no matter where your qualifying exam comes from).

  • If you have a qualifying exam from a country outside of the EU (this applies regardless of your nationality)
  • If you are a national from a country outside the EU (applies regardless of your qualifying examination)

Please note that your qualifying exam must be completed before the application deadline. Except: 

  • applicants who hold a permanent residence permit or a residence permit with the possibility of obtaining a permanent residence permit in Denmark (including all EU citizens) and are completing high school in Denmark
  • applicants applying for a Bachelor's top-up programme who will finish a Danish AP degree

If you have a qualifying exam from a non-EU country, we strongly recommend you to get an assessment of foreign qualifications from UFM (The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science).

You must upload attachments as documentation for the information stated in your application. It is your responsibility to upload all required documentation.

You must upload all documentation with your application before the application deadline.

Required attachments:
  • Your upper secondary diploma and transcript of records
  • English test results (IELTS or TOEFL) - get more info
  • A signed and stamped verification form
  • Any other relevant educational degrees
  • Danish residence permit and letter from the government confirming residence permit (if any)
  • Copy of passport (e.g. take a picture of your passport)
  • Motivated application, which must be your answers in this form for a motivated application (word document). Your answers in this form contain reasons for your choice of programme, knowledge of the academic content of the programme and career perspectives. Download the form, fill it in and upload it with your application. Please note that we will only accept motivated applications when this form is used.
  • A receipt of the application fee payment
Additional attachments (Quota 2):

Your application will automatically be assessed according to the Danish Quota 2 system. This means that you, in addition to the required attachments, will also be evaluated according to additional attachments.

Please note that the video presentation is highly ranked in relation to the overall assessment for Quota 2.

If your educational programme or any supplementary subjects have been taken in Denmark, you must upload your original diploma with your application. We do not accept transcripts from the Danish examination database, and a transcript of your records is also not valid.

You must upload a verification form along with your application, documenting how many hours of instruction you have had in any relevant subjects during the final three years at your upper secondary school.

We do not accept other verification forms than this one. If you do not upload this verification form, it is not possible for us to evaluate your application.

As a non-EU applicant, you are required to pay an application fee of € 100.

Exempt from this are:

  • Applicants who hold a permanent residence permit or a residence permit with the possibility of obtaining a permanent residence permit in Denmark (including all EU citizens)
  • Applicants who hold a temporary residence permit with reference to the following §7; §8 stk. 1 & 2; §9 stk. 1; and §9c stk. 1
  • applicants who are applying for a Bachelor’s top-up programme and who, at the time of application, are in their last semester of a qualifying Danish AP programme

It is your responsibility that you upload all documentation with your application before the application deadline.

Payment must be done here (Study start in August 2023)

Please note that you must upload the payment receipt to your application.

If you have not paid the application fee before 15 March, your application will not be processed.

The application fee will be refunded if you are admitted and are still enrolled in your programme as of 1 October. In all other cases, the fee will not be refunded.

As a non-EU citizen, you must pay the full tuition fee.

Get information about tuition fees - and other financial issues

Please note that all applicants who are admitted to a programme must pay a materials fee of € 100 depending on the programme. Information about payment will be given in the student contract.

The Admissions team do an overall assessment of the applications based on the required attachments.

If we find you qualified for admission, we will do a clarifying interview. 

You will hear from us as soon as possible after the deadline for applying.

Applicants who have to pay an application fee will be notified before 1 May. 

Applicants who hold a permanent residence permit or a residence permit with the possibility of obtaining a permanent residence permit in Denmark will not hear from us before the 28 July. 

Where do I get my answer?

The answer is sent to the e-mail address you have provided when applying.

If you have a Danish CPR-number the answer is sent to your digital post from public authorities.

I haven't received my answer!

First of all – please check your spam folder.

Even though you have applied for several programmes, you will only get one answer. You will receive an answer from the programme you are admitted to.

If you are not offered a study place on any programme, you will receive only one rejection letter.

Why do I get a rejection letter?

If you do not fulfill the admission requirements, you will receive a rejection e-mail, as soon as we have evaluated your application.

If you fulfill the admission requirements, but you are not admitted, you will receive a rejection letter.
