Teaching methods

Teaching methods and the academic level have been planned to accommodate everybody – regardless of whether you have an upper secondary qualification or a basic vocational education.

Fundamentally, the study and work forms are based on projects. They strengthen the cohesion between the academic subjects and ensure that from the moment you start your studies, you use the same work methods that are used in the industry. You will work with various projects during each semester. The framework for the projects will be pre-defined, but you will be able to influence the specific projects. You will be working in a project group assisted by a project supervisor. Furthermore, you will receive guidance and theoretical tuition through assignments and exercises.

You will be taught and supervised by the Academy’s permanent lecturers and by guest lecturers from other educational institutions and companies.

The programme is organised in a flexible way – this includes both the academic subjects and the teaching methods. Our classes are small with ongoing evaluations and personal interviews between students and lecturers. Our methods ensure that you get the maximal benefit and that we can take your individual objectives and needs into consideration. You can enter the department 24 hours a day and you are welcome to use the Academy's equipment whenever it is convenient for you.

Collaboration with the business sector

Our main collaboration with the business sector is in connection with internships and projects where we use project supervisors from various companies. We also benefit from guest lecturers who are able to describe the most recent trends and state-of-the-art technologies.

The specialisation subjects for the 2nd and 3rd semesters can be arranged as teaching at companies and as internships.

Internship and final project

During your internship you will work with relevant professional issues. You will be based at one or more companies. The internship can be planned flexibly to form the basis for your main project.

You prepare your final project in collaboration with a company and must prepare a report that documents the course and forms the basis for your main exam.

Examples of final projects:

  • Security in virtual infrastructures
  • The use of tablets in welfare solutions
  • Patient monitoring via mobile phones

Apply for admission

This programme will no longer be available in English from 2022 and onwards.

In 4th semester, you will do an internship in a company.

In your internship you will get to test your newly acquired skills in a company and get insight into future work assignments and career opportunities. You will be able to connect your theoretical knowledge with practical experience, and at the same time strengthen your CV.

In the internship, you can test a specific field of work and then focus your programme in relation to your career plans. As part of your internship, you must write a project report which is based on a problem statement from the company. Here, you will have the opportunity to specialise within your specific interests.

The internship is a mandatory part of your programme, and it is your responsibility to find an internship company. To help, we have a wide range of tools and contacts available, e.g. via our career centre.
